Ipswich to open its doors
FROM tomorrow (6 October) the Ipswich Turf Club will open its gates free of charge for midweek meetings.
Following the recent AGM, the Committee made the decision to trial free entry for all midweek race meetings at Ipswich.
The Club’s re-elected chairman Wayne Patch said the decision was in line with industry trends.
“Our core business comes from trade during our midweek meetings,” said Mr Patch.
“We want patrons to come and enjoy the entertainment of live racing without barriers such as gate fees.
“At this stage, the free entry is a trial, however, the Committee is confident this is the right decision for the local and racing community.”
Racing continues at the Ipswich Turf Club tomorrow, Friday 6 October with the first race kicking off at 12:57pm.
