Stakeholder consultation true position
It’s going to be a bumper weekend at the Ipswich Turf Club with 250 nominations set for the two racedays.
Following consultation with stakeholders and with favourable weather conditions in order, the rail will be in a true position for both days.
Track supervisor Sean Tou said the decision was made following feedback from jockeys and trainers.
“We are expecting ideal conditions and with only six weeks until the Ipswich Cup we want to give the inside pad a good gallop on.”
“Normal rail movements will be used over the next four meetings prior to a short break before the Channel Seven Ipswich Cup on June 16.”
The Saturday meeting will also feature the 13th Ipswich Mile Gift, a foot race run by the Queensland Athletic League. Patrons will also be able to have a flutter with the event being the only foot race in Queensland which betting is allowed.
The public holiday meeting on the Monday will host the CFMEU Labour Day Races for the 12th consecutive year.
Families will be out in force with FREE rides, face painting, animal farm and more all set for a full day of fun from 10am to 4pm.
The day is the second largest meeting for the Club behind the iconic Ipswich Cup and features the CFMEU Cup Stayers (Heat) Benchmark 75 Handicap.
