Ipswich Cup – it's back!

Ipswich Cup – it's back!

Date: 28-Mar-2024

IPSWICH will once again be the focal point of Australian racing in June, when the city hosts horses from some of Australia’s biggest racing stables at the annual TAB Ipswich Cup.

This year to be run for a increased purse of $250,000, the Ipswich Cup is the most attended event of the Queensland Winter Racing Carnival – and the most fun!

Each year the TAB Ipswich Cup attracts horses from some of the country’s most successful racing stables with leading local and interstate jockeys competing for a slice of the substantial prizemoney.

The TAB Ipswich Cup balances the most fun you can have on a racetrack with top class racing action featuring horses from some of Australia’s leading race stables.

This was highlighted last year with top interstate trainers landing each of the three black type features on the card.

The Hayes family’s Lindsay Park operation took out the Eye Liner Stakes with Lady Of Honour, before Melbourne Cup winning trainers Ciaron Maher and David Eustace landed the Gai Waterhouse Classic with Chassis.

Annabel Neasham, the heir apparent to Waterhouse among Australia’s female trainers, landed the Ipswich Cup with the imported stayer Regal Lion.

This year's TAB Ipswich Cup will be run on 22 June. Tickets are now on sale.
