BEAU Gorman caught the racing bug while he was at university, studying to become a vet. He was hooked and, to cut a long story short, he isn’t a vet now.

The Ipswich trainer is passionate about thoroughbred racing and he and his team have an abiding love of horses.

Beau and his team were celebrating at his home track recently when his three-year-old gelding Bent Bridge won the TAB Maiden Handicap (1350m).

With Ben Thompson in the saddle, Bent Bridge held off the favourite Our Mate Locky, cruelling the hopes of his father-son team of Jamie and Jake Bayliss.
