Today’s race day highlight included Murwillumbah trainer Matt Dunn clocking his 1000th career win.
Dunn took up a trainer’s license in 2011 and has been a strong contender in the training ranks since.
He had the one runner today at Ipswich and marked the occasion perfectly with Ready for Anything claiming his Maiden win with Andrew Mallyon aboard.
David Vandyke’s Joy Too All was fresh from a spell and won easily in the Class 3 Handicap.
Finding the outside lane, Ryan Maloney steered the talented mare to hit the line two and a quarter of a lengths ahead of the field.
Kate Cowan’s (pictured) form was spot on today picking up a winning double.
She partnered with trainer Pat Duff to ride Dream Song and found the slick lane in the final strides to storm home and win the 1680m Class 2 Handicap.
Cowan also claimed the Class 5 Plate 1200m with John Thomas’ runner Dragon Miss.
