Inaugural Ipswich Cup on show New

The 1866 Ipswich Cup, won by Jibboom, will be on display throughout June at the Ipswich Art Gallery.
The Ipswich Cup is one of the oldest races on the Australian turf, being run just five years after the first running of the Melbourne Cup.
Jibboom won his Cup at the third annual race meeting of the Old Turf Club, which was run on May 30, 1866.
The Cup was secured by a group of local business people in 2005 for $10,000 and now resides at the Ipswich Art Gallery.
It will be displayed throughout June in the upstairs Collections Gallery.
