The Ipswich Turf Club has appointed Nathan Exelby to the position of Chief Executive Officer and Club Secretary following the resignation of incumbent Tim Dunn.
Tim has been a valued and much-loved member of the ITC since his appointment to the CEO role three and a half years ago.
Under his management the ITC has gone from strength to strength, suring up the club’s racing program of at least 45 race meetings each year, while at the same time developing the club’s long term Masterplan and growing the scope and reach of the Ipswich Events and Entertainment Centre.
Tim has recently made the decision to leave the racing industry and pursue other interests.
“Tim’s decision to have a break from the racing industry is a real loss. He has been a key contributor to the success of the club over the past four years and his foresight and enthusiasm have set the stage for an exciting future with night racing, world class training facilities and commercial development all firmly on the agenda," ITC Chairman Wayne Patch said.
"We wish him well and now look forward to the next exciting chapter in the club’s history under the guidance of our new CEO Nathan Exelby.”
Exelby was appointed as a consultant by Dunn in September last year to act as the club’s Racing Manager. It followed two years as Senior Manager of Media and Communications at the Brisbane Racing Club, which followed 10 years as Racing Editor for the Courier Mail. Nathan has also been a regular contributor on SKY Racing and Radio TAB over the past decade.
“Ipswich plays a vital role in the south-east Queensland racing program and it’s a privilege to be joining the team in this role,” Exelby said.
“Ipswich is blessed with a terrific Tracks, Administrative and Hospitality team and I look forward to working with them to continue the great work Tim has done here over the past few years.”
